SCC - Workforce Readiness Department invites qualified candidates to apply for our pooled Part-time Faculty Welding Instructor(s). Part-time appointments are made on a semester-by-semester (as needed) basis.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ideal candidate(s) will perform instructional classroom and practical hands-on training in the topics below. The candidate will create and deliver training to comply with industry recognized welding procedures and American Welding Society criteria.

- The individual(s) will deliver comprehensive welding instruction, develop and update curriculum materials to align with industry standards and align with the strategic vision and mission of SCC.
- Assess and evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback and support for improvement.
- Collaborate with faculty members to enhance the welding program and ensure its effectiveness.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and safety standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings, faculty development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students to help them succeed in their welding related careers.
- Maintaining supplies; keeping records of accounts; monitoring welding lab equipment.
- Establishing procedures to ensure a safe learning environment and efficient operation reflective of industry standards.

- Safety
- GMAW
- SMAW
- FCAW
- GTAW
- Blueprint reading
- NDT procedures
Hours: Day and evening positions available
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of related experience as a Welder,
- Welding Instructor/Trainer in an industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of: Welding, Cutting and Fabrication, manufacturing.
- Self-motivated and have the ability to work well with others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
- American Welding Society certification.
