Sports Field (Event Operations) Internship Job at AEG in East Rutherford

MetLife Stadium, home to both the NY Giants and NY Jets has one (1) openings for an internship in our Event Ops - Sports Field Department. Our Summer semester internships are open to currently enrolled college juniors and seniors, ideally gaining academic credit. Prior internship experience is a plus.
Interested students applying for a Event Ops - Sports Field Summer 2024 Internship will observe, learn and participate in the "behind the scenes" labor that is required for a Stadium with (2) NFL teams, numerous concerts, soccer and family type events. Due to the unique Stadium schedule the Event Ops - Sports Field intern would be required to attend events in the evening, weekends and often holidays. A work schedule will be communicated with the intern at least one week in advance. This internship provides a unique perspective as to the "back of the house" requirements that are in place for field conversion and preparations between events.
The interns will work closely with the Sports Field Manager, Event Ops staff and other departments throughout the organization.

Must be currently enrolled in an Undergraduate program (Junior/Senior as of September 2025) or Post-Graduate program
Schedule:
Due to the unique Stadium schedule the event operations intern would be required to attend events in the evening, weekends and often holidays.
*This is an unpaid internship, but academic credit can be arranged if allowed by the University (however, it is not mandatory that an intern needs to receive course credit). Our staff will be more than willing to assist with feedback, evaluations and weekly progress reports dependent on the University and their requirements.

- Assist in the maintenance of the field (both natural and synthetic) which could include, mowing, weed eating, trimming, irrigation repairs, and similar tasks
- Assist with the maintenance of landscaping areas and common areas within the stadium gates
- Contribute to the Facility Operations team by helping assist during concert load in and load out, as well as assist with the setup for various special events in the building as well
- Observe and assist with the installation and removal of field protective flooring system
- Opportunity to observe the practice facility operations with the NY Giants and NY Jets throughout the summer
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee should also have the following qualifications:
Experience/Education:
- Bachelors Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in progress required
- Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent multitasking abilities while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities
- Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision.
- Professional appearance and attitude, as well as the ability to work with others
