About the job
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical/Surgical unit in Birmingham, AL. This position is for a post-operative ortho/neuro unit, requiring expertise in providing care to post-operative orthopedic and neuro-spine patients. With a focus on patient-centered care, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and recovery of patients. This is a 12-hour night shift position with 36 hours per week, working three days per week, from 18:45 - 07:15.

- Non-local rate: $44.18/hr (including a taxable rate of $28.18/hr and a per diem of $16.00/hr)
- Local rate: $35.34/hr (for those within a 50-mile radius)
- Benefit from a reward on the non-local rate: $4.37/hr.

What youll be doing:
- Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans for post-op ortho and neuro-spine patients.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions in accordance with healthcare protocols.
- Serve as the primary coordinator to ensure well-coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Accurately carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
- Maintain a nurse/patient ratio of 1-5 during the day shift and 1-6 during the night shift.
Requirements:
- Valid RN license with experience in a Medical/Surgical setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and two out of five winter holidays.
- Must provide two professional references.
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
