SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all facility and production equipment to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. The position is responsible for, but not limited to robots, fluid movement systems, conveyors, boilers, air compressors, HVAC systems, chemical treatment systems, and electrical systems. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform repairs or preventative maintenance on one or more of the following types of equipment/ systems:
o Electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase
o Mechanical systems
o Hydraulics
o Pneumatics
o PLC and networks
o Robotics
o Boilers
o Chemical treatment systems Read and interpret documents and drawings. Read and comprehend procedures and manuals.
Problem-solve and troubleshoot equipment. Evaluates facilities, equipment, and other infrastructure to determine need for corrective and/or preventive maintenance work.
Ensure the facility's equipment and machines are properly maintained and in good working order according to manufacturing specifications and quality standards.
Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records.
Assist with modification or repair work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and other consultants. Communicate well between production employees, other maintenance technicians, and department management. Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs. Capable and willing to work overtime. Perform other duties assigned.
Always comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Have at least 3 years' experience with troubleshooting, control devices, pneumatics, mechanics, and electrical repair.
Can read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate.
PLC/ Logic/ automation training certificate.
Welding certificate or fabrication experience.
Experience in the operation of a powder dairy plant.
Prior food production experience.
