Night Shift Belt Fabricator – Belt Technician

Job Summary:

As a Night Shift Belt Technician at Belt Power, LLC., you will perform a variety of duties to customize heavy duty belts and rubber components to the customer specification either in-house or at a customer site. The night shift Belt Technician will exclusively work on Production Monday through Thursday from 1pm until 11pm and will not be eligible to go on installs during those days.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Build / repair belts and conveyor belt components
  • Install and vulcanize lightweight and heavyweight conveyor belting.
  • Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock area, follows sales orders.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.
  • Perform duties to fabricate, install and repair conveyor belting and systems.
  • Work in a manner that ensures the safety of everyone involved. Exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment
  • Detect and report defective equipment, material and any improper operations or unusual conditions.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations; maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Always represent Belt Power in a professional manner
  • Required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Belt Shop Fabricator - Belt Technician Requirements:

  • Organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail
  • Strong mechanical background
  • The ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure.
  • Basic math skills and computer skills
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Adapt to changing situations
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as ability to work at heights and tight spaces
  • Overtime hours and weekend work may be required
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent education

Job Requirements:

  • Work is physically strenuous, and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds.

Desired characteristics:

  • Maintenance, belt tech experience preferred

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in a fabrication shop environment. The noise level is moderately loud. Generally well-ventilated and well lit. Shop employees may be required to wear protective clothing. Operation of heavy equipment and strict safety regulations are required.

Physical Demands:

The Night Shift Belt Technician may lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and will require manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls, tools, and other items used to make adjustments and / or minor maintenance. Will use hands, arms, back, and shoulders to handle, install, position, move items, and manipulate other objects. Could be in a standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting position for long periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position in a shop. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Thursday 1pm to 11pm production work only with occasional weekend work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
