Shift Differential: For hours worked 4pm - 12 am ($.50/hour) or 12am - 8am ($1.00/hour)

Job Summary

Supervises work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, attractive rooms in the hotel.

Essential Job Duties
  1. Obtains list of vacant rooms that need to be cleaned immediately and a list of prospective checkouts or discharges in order to prepare work assignments.
  2. Lists all stay-overs on a summary sheet.
  3. Assigns team members their duties and inspects work for conformation to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  4. Advises front desk, or admitting personnel of rooms ready for occupancy.
  5. Inventories cleaning supplies and linen stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  6. May issue supplies and equipment to team members.
  7. Records employees room bonuses on a daily basis.
  8. Create and issue disciplinary actions in conjunction with the Casino Cleaning Services Director.
  9. Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action.
  10. Examines rooms, halls, and lobbies to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management.
  11. Conducts training of new team members and ensures that the team member performs his/her tasks in a manner that meets the needs of the guest and the company.
  12. Records data concerning work assignments.
  13. Ensures guest rooms are properly secured and the housekeeping staff utilizes proper key control procedures.
  14. Communicates and networks effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
  15. Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
  16. Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
  17. Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
  18. Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
  19. Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance standards.

Supplemental Job Duties
  1. Will plan and organize the work of others
  2. Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
  3. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will have the authority to; make decisions necessary for carrying out the above listed job duties, and make recommendations to the Casino Cleaning Services Director to hire, terminate, promote, demote, transfer, provide training opportunities, recommend wage increases, evaluate performance, create and adjust performance standards, create and/or delegate staff scheduling and invoke disciplinary action within approved guidelines. This position may have other supervisory authority assigned as necessary through management. This position directly supervises the Inspector/Guest Room Attendants, Guest Room Attendants, and Housekeeping Utility.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

May be exposed to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Some lifting up to 40 pounds may be required. Involves significant walking, standing, bending, stooping and reaching. Must be confidential.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences: High School Diploma or GED. Requires two (2) years of supervisory experience. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.

Skills/Abilities: Requires ability to deal with the general public, guests, team members, government officials with tact and courtesy. Requires good organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be flexible with shift and days off. Must be able to work independently with no supervision. Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations and be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions. Must be able to meet all internal supervisory or higher, training and education requirements.

Restrictions

This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on duty, except as authorized for team member tournaments. Otherwise, this position may play any casino game while off duty. Team members and members of the household are prohibited from entering company contests and giveaways established for our guests.
