Job Description
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To maintain all aspects of a Tufting machine for 1 hour every day during breaks.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Monitor carpet quality.
Change backing.
Make out roll tickets.
Doff rolls.
Ability to mend both punch needle and mending gun.
Give Breaks to Tufting Operator.
Hang creel to tuft.
Receive yarn to creel. (Make sure all tickets are accounted for and yarn color and lots match work order).
Hang yarn on either creel.
Bending, stooping, reaching overhead is required.
Must have a good safety record.
Must keep work area clean at all times.
Able to work unsupervised and be self motivated and work well with others.
Other duties as instructed by supervisor.
Housekeeping of area.
NEEDED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read yarn labels
Ability to follow instructions on warp orders
Ability to hang 306 to 612 cones of yarn and remove 306 to 612 cones of yarn on creels in a 12-hour shift.
Keep records on daily report
Ability to bend, pull, and lift
Ability to read, write, and do basic math and use air splicer
Ability to run knots through on through Tufting machine
Ability to understand graphic patterns
The Creeler/Operator will be given preference for future Operator openings. Shift preference is given within the job only.
