We are currently seeking candidates for a 3rd shift Production Supervisor at the Cabinetworks Group manufacturing plant in Waconia, MN. Responsible and accountable for providing leadership in assigned departments to achieve departmental and plant business objectives.

Position Overview for the Production Supervisor:
  • Assign and coordinate work, assist with employee selection, review employee performance, resolve employee issues and administer company policies in assigned department.
  • Manage and drive departmental performance measures articulated in the Cabinetworks Group Operating System (COS), including visual controls and proficiency with the tools and reporting requirements in the system.
  • Coordinate and direct the activities of the department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality and promoting safety, plant housekeeping and employee morale.
  • Ensure all job-related accidents or injuries are reported and documented by those responsible and take appropriate corrective action in an expeditious manner.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, and process modifications.
  • Inspect product to verify product standards and specifications are met.
  • Provide technical and behavioral coaching and development to employees.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping in Kronos.
  • Participate in and/or lead continuous improvement projects to reduce material and labor costs.


Position Requirements for the Production Supervisor:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in related field
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience with manufacturing software systems.
  • Continuous improvement training such as Six Sigma, PDCA, DMAIC, or Kaizen.
  • Lean-Manufacturing knowledge and strong background in material flow and bottleneck removal principles.
  • Exposure to systems controls such as ISO 140001.
  • Green Belt Certification or comparable problem-solving certification.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
  • Excellent leadership skills, including "factory floor presence", are essential.
  • Ability to manage a fast paced, ever changing set of challenges daily is a must.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office product computer skills required, including strong Excel skills.
  • Strong communication, problem solving and time management skills essential.

  • INSTRUCTING - Teaching subject matter to others, or training others through explanation, demonstration, and supervised practice; or making recommendations on the basis of technical disciplines.
  • INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/BEHAVIORS - Dealing with individuals with a range of moods and behaviors in a tactful, congenial, personal manner so as not to alienate or antagonize them.
