WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee and assist a team of highly skilled technicians who are responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of plant equipment. Additionally, supervision of the mechanics/techniques during equipment down time, provide knowledge during corrective maintenance procedures, and devise procedures and/or policies to optimize technicians and plant equipment. Ultimately, it is expected that the successful candidate will have additional responsibility to ensure that all food safety and quality practices are followed.

  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment plan for corrective action, most known as, root cause analysis.
  • Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production report
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, listening for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction; production delays on daily production report
  • Make necessary corrections and run adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality
  • Provides manual assistance and/or guidance to safely and successfully execute repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Assists with development of preventive and predictive plans to increase overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Communicates equipment readiness to the maintenance department and/or production management
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automation equipment
  • Install, repair, maintain, and/or troubleshoot automation equipment, major and minor malfunctions in the plant with the assistance of handheld power tools and welders
  • Responsible for the learning and development, as well as the training of maintenance mechanics and machine operators.
  • Lead and conduct employee safety trainings and tailgate meetings
  • Verify and manager the inventory for spare parts and plant equipment/tools
  • Test equipment to check for proper operation of machinery
  • Clear jams and set aside product for inspection and rework
  • Try out equipment after repairs, changeovers, or extended downtime to ensure proper operation.
  • Make repairs to machinery in cold storage
  • Manage and reduce repair costs and downtime
  • Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production report
  • Other assigned duties and/or projects to support business needs.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School/GED or two years of experience and/or training in related field or combination of both education and experience
  • Valid Driver License and clean driving record


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts on continuous, seven-day cycle
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of electrical PLC’s, panels, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and be thorough when completing work tasks
  • Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools
  • Ability to read and understand equipment and technical manuals
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in-person, text, email, etc.
  • Ability to delegate tasks, provide follow-ups, and hold team accountable to Bolthouse Fresh Foods policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the course of assigned responsibilities


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) from two-year college or technical school, or military service, or two to three years' experience and/or training in related field or combination of both education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Environmental exposure - cold/wet conditions (40 °ree; or below).
  • Material exposure – moving mechanical parts
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in an upright position walking on both even and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, using 3-point contact on a regular basis
  • Ability to stoop, crouch, and kneel on a regular basis
  • Ability to use hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, and handle objects in one position for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to successfully wear a full face and half face respirator mask for extended periods of time


HOURS & WORKDAYS:

3rd Shift – Friday through Tuesday from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM; Overtime, Weekends, and Holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotating workday/time off schedules may be mandatory depending on department/business needs as well.
