WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The Cello – Production Assistant will assist the supervisor in trouble shooting, making minor adjustments, and report any issues with plant equipment to achieve maximum levels of quality and production while minimizing downtime. Training will be “on-the-job” and in a fast-paced work environment. This vital position will also work closely with the plant operator, assistant supervisor, and maintenance staff.
- Alert maintenance staff, plant operator, and manager of all breakdowns.
- Give updates on equipment statuses.
- Read and prepare work orders.
- Create logistics to perform work while coordinating with production, maintenance, and supervisors.
- Monitor production area.
- Respond to maintenance calls.
- Check code dates, work orders, and inspect equipment.
- Train new employees on how to safely work on or near equipment or heavy machinery.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe plant.
- Inspect work area.
- Perform clean-up using proper tools and machinery as needed.
- Responsible for notifying supervisor of any object found or pest sighted in the work area.
- Must be aware of the following and assist in interpreting and enforcing them: ALL sanitation guidelines, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor and ensure that the following areas are running smoothly and not backing up: “Big Blue”, Cello Pit, and South Plant.
- Perform other assigned duties.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School/GED Diploma or one to two years experience in related field or a combination of both education and experience
- Valid Driver License and clean driving record.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Effective communication skills.
- Punctual, excellent attendance record, and cooperate with others.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills.
- Apply common sense, understand, and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two to three years’ experience in production maintenance (production worker).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Mechanically inclined
- Forklift certified
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to ascend and descent ramps, steps, ladders, stairs using three-point contact
- Environment exposure – cold/wet conditions (40 °ree; or below).
- Environment exposure_ hot/humid conditions (95 °ree; or above).
- Material exposure – moving mechanical parts.
- Must be able to lift up to 50-55 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period during shift
HOURS & WORKDAYS:
- 2nd shift 4:30 PM – 2:00 AM; Hours subject to change; Overtime and holidays may be mandatory based on business needs.
