ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS. Rotating 12 hour shifts form 6:00 am to 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm to 6:00 am
Responsibilities
The Detention Officer Lead make sure that the Detention Officers assigned to the shift completes all daily duties assigned.
* Make sure that each shift functions correctly and efficiently.
* Report any problems or issues to the Detention Center Manager.
* Search arrested persons for contraband and document all property and money taken from arrested persons.
* Ensure that all arrested persons are magistrate and paperwork is complete.
* Make sure that arrested person in the housing area are checked on every fifteen (15) minutes throughout the time at the Detention Center.
* Ensure that the shift summary that documents all daily functions of the facility has been completed.
* Make sure that all incidents reports are completed in a timely manner.
* May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Associate's Degree
* Two (2) years of directly related experience
* A combination of education and experience will be considered
* Must obtain a CPR/First Aide and TLETS Certification within 12 months of employment
* A valid driver's license is required
* Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating
Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
