Position Summary
The Retail Specialist position will play a lead role in the daily revenue growth of Sloomoo Institute supporting guests with their purchases and ensuring the organization and attractiveness of the retail space. Sloomoo Institute has the mentality of a start-up and everyone has a cross-functional role. All team members are trained to be diligent and fluid, able to navigate multiple things at once, and work closely with the team. We are a fast-growing retail brand with a robust retail store, e-commerce division and national location growth.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greets and interacts with guests.
- Consults with guests to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
- Demonstrates and explains merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the guest’s needs.
- Assist guests with purchase decisions and questions about merchandise.
- Retrieves merchandise from sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations; place special orders.
- Collects payment using the store point of sale system.
- Process returns and exchanges.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- On a daily basis review shelves and ensure that the store is fully stocked, and products are priced correctly.
- Weekly review of purchases and opportunity for improving sales with the Experience Manager.
- Ensure the presentation of all products is in keeping with expectations.
- Weekly review of inventory and making forecasting recommendations.
- Retail sales averaging $15/guest.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent sales and guest service skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the merchandise sold.
- Ability to anticipate guests’ needs.
- Ability to recommend merchandise to guests.
- Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale system.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail experience preferred.
- On-the-job training provided.
- Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- All applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
