As part of our Wireless Hardware group, you’ll be responsible for bringing groundbreaking wireless connectivity to the world. On this team, you’ll help improve the performance of our products through innovative system-on-chip designs. Together, our goal is to ensure nothing stands in the way of our customers’ connections with their devices. We support WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB, NFC, and emerging technologies. As a Mixed Signal Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and verification of digital and power portions of wireless designs across all Apple products.
Description
The Mixed Signal Hardware Design Engineer will:
- Closely work with internal hardware, software, and silicon teams to define system interconnects and power supplies. Implement in product schematics and layout.
- Work with internal hardware and silicon teams to bring-up, characterize (performance/power), and validate new digital interfaces and protocols.
- Work with power supply application circuit design and validation, including load step response, ripple and accuracy, stability.
- Work with external chipset vendors to develop successful integration and verification plans.
- Be required to travel internationally as needed (15%).
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Good understanding of protocol specifications for communication interfaces like PCIe, MIPI, I2C, SPI, UART, etc.
- Experience with power supply/power management and power distribution networks.
- Hands-on debug experience with usage of modern lab equipment (DSOs, Logic Analyzers, Protocol Analyzers).

- M.S.E.E. is preferred.
- Experience in writing basic software routines and test scripts.
- Strong desire to investigate system-level issues and drive problems to closure in a team-based environment with a proactive demeanor.
- Experience with mobile and/or embedded processors and memory systems.
- Experience with circuit schematic capture/layout.
- Experience interacting with offshore manufacturing partners.
- Successful track record of delivering highly innovative communication products.
- Experience with high volume, low power, mobile products.
- Ability to travel internationally.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
