Production Lead
Custom Residential Casework
Department: Production Operations
Reports To: Head of Production Operations
Location: Denver, Colorado
Position Overview
The Production Lead at Vonmod will be responsible to oversee and manage high-profile custom casework work orders. This role requires technical expertise to ensure that projects are produced efficiently, fabricated and assembled to the highest quality standards, all while aligning with Vonmods operational and cultural values. The Production Lead will collaborate closely with Project Managers and the Production Team to guide work orders through the production phase, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish.
In addition to leading their own work orders, the Production Lead will serve as a Production Tech to assist other Production Leads in managing their work orders, ensuring smooth workflows across the production floor.
Core Functions and Responsibilities
- Production Work Order Scope
- Develop a strong understanding of each projects scope and details through a Work Order Onboarding Meeting with the Project Manager.
- Ensure all required materials and hardware are available and the workspace is properly set up for production.
- Post work orders for production and prepare the necessary materials for fabrication.
- Operate machinery and equipment in the Production Shop, ensuring safety and precision.
- Assemble and complete custom fabrication tasks for each work order.
- Work with the Staging and Delivery Coordinator to stage projects for efficient delivery.
- Production Environment Monitoring:
- Inspect machinery and tools regularly, identifying faults or broken items, and reporting these issues to the Department Head and the team.
- Troubleshoot minor errors and issues within the production process.
- Perform routine machine maintenance as required and instructed by the department head
- Project Manager & Production Tech Communications:
- Maintain high-level communication with the Project Manager and Production Tech team regarding the status of work orders.
- Provide timely updates to the Project Manager about production progress.
- Stay informed on project status through to installation, and assist with remills, change orders, or special requests from the Project Manager and Installation Team.
- Report unsafe work conditions to the Production Safety Specialist, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Delegate tasks effectively to Production Techs and provide training and support as needed.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new Production Techs and support the Head of Production in their duties.
- Production Work Order QC
- Monitor and assess the quality of work produced during the production phase to ensure it meets Vonmods high standards.
- Production Tech
- Actively assist other Production Leads in getting their work orders through the production process
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in cabinetry or millwork production.
- Minimum of 1 year as a Vonmod Production Tech (exceptions may apply for those with relevant experience).
- Deep understanding of Vonmods high-quality standards for production and assembly.
- Proficiency with Cabinet Vision and Rhino for project analysis.
- Proficient Vonmod Install Assist
- Full understanding and ability to execute all stages of the production process.
- High competency with production shop machinery and equipment, including CNC Routers, Edgebanders, Omal, and related tools.

Work Environment
- Production Shop & Assembly Warehouse: Approximately 85% of your time will be spent in these areas, which are air-conditioned and heated for comfort.
- Production Meetings & Administrative Tasks: Approximately 15% of your time will be spent engaged in production meetings, onboarding sessions with Project Managers, and work order posting activities in the studio.
