About the role

As Head of Business Development at Anthropic, you will play a crucial role in expanding our market reach and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships and alliances. Working closely with our Go-To-Market leadership team, you will identify and cultivate relationships that amplify our impact in the AI industry and open new avenues for business expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Anthropic's business development strategy, aligning with our overall Go-To-Market approach
  • Identify, negotiate, and establish strategic partnerships with complementary businesses, technology providers, and industry leaders
  • Create and manage channel partner programs to expand our sales reach
  • Explore and evaluate new market segments and geographical areas for business growth
  • Develop new revenue streams through innovative business models and licensing agreements
  • Build and nurture a broader ecosystem around Anthropic's AI products and services
  • Work with the product team to identify and oversee integration opportunities with partner technologies
  • Lead complex deal negotiations and structure agreements that align with Anthropic's strategic objectives
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, product, and legal teams to execute partnership strategies
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence to inform product development and Go-To-Market strategies
  • Represent Anthropic at high-level industry events and conferences
  • Establish KPIs for partnership success and track the impact of business development activities
  • Identify emerging technologies or startups for potential partnerships or investments
  • Contribute to Anthropic's long-term strategic planning, ensuring business development activities align with the company's vision and goals

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in business development or strategic partnerships, with at least 5 years in leadership roles within the technology sector
  • Proven track record of successfully establishing and managing high-value partnerships
  • Strong understanding of the AI industry and its ecosystem
  • Experience in developing and executing go-to-market strategies
  • Excellent negotiation and deal-structuring skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with C-level executives and key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate partnership opportunities and their potential impact
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating across departments
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to align business development activities with company goals
  • Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity in a rapidly evolving industry
  • MBA or equivalent experience is preferred
