Junior Associate Attorney - Trusts & Estates

AGMB LLP, a boutique law firm in New York City, is looking for a Junior Associate to join our Trusts & Estates team. Our practice is dedicated to delivering sophisticated estate planning solutions for high-net-worth clients, and we seek a driven, detail-oriented attorney eager to grow within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

Location: New York City, NY

Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

Document Drafting and Review: Prepare and review critical estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives, tailored to clients' specific wealth transfer and protection strategies.

Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of Form 706 (Estate Tax Return) and Form 709 (Gift Tax Return) filings, supporting compliance and strategic tax minimization.

Probate and Trust Administration: Handle the probate administration process, including drafting petitions, accountings, and guiding clients through complex administration issues with a focus on high-net-worth estates.

Client Relations and Strategic Planning: Collaborate directly with clients and their advisors, supporting advanced asset protection and wealth transfer planning.

Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research, providing analysis on issues related to estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes, as well as trust and probate law.

Qualifications:

Education: JD from an ABA-accredited law school, graduating in the top 20% of the class;

LLM in Taxation preferred;

2 - 4 years of applicable trusts and estates experience mandatory;

Licensing: Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to waive into the NY bar.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with estate drafting software preferred; strong knowledge of estate and gift tax compliance is a plus.

Professional Traits: Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exceptional client service.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: $100,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience.
