Job Summary:
Gaishin Manufacturing Grand Rapids is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented B Shift Setup Lead to join our team. The Setup Lead will execute, oversee and coordinate the setup of Swiss Lathe CNC machines during the B shift to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of production schedules. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
Gaishin Manufacturing Grand Rapids is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented B Shift Setup Lead to join our team. The Setup Lead will execute, oversee and coordinate the setup of Swiss Lathe CNC machines during the B shift to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of production schedules. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and assist in the setup of machining equipment.
- Troubleshoot setup issues and collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve challenges.
- Ensure that all setups comply with safety protocols, quality standards, and operational procedures.
- Communicate effectively with other shifts to ensure a seamless handoff of operations.
- Assist with continuous improvement activities to optimize setup processes and reduce downtime.
- Monitor inventory levels for setup-related tools and supplies ensuring availability as needed.
- Preparation of setup tools, supplies, and equipment for future setups.
- Operation of machines in production when no setup activities are required.
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of a Swiss Lathe CNC Machine.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using production software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to work the B shift and flexible hours, including occasional overtime as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent, technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- CNC machining Experience in Aerospace or Medical environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Previous experience working in a similar role within the same industry.
