Job Overview:
Seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to join YFA's dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing various day-to-day HR functions, such as Leave of Absence (LOA) management, oversight of external audits for YFA's funders/contracts, overseeing all employee relations, and supervising two (2) HR staff. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong time-management skills and an in-depth understanding of HR policies and procedures.
Employee Relations
- Partner with Program Directors and provide assistance with administering Corrective Action Performance (CAPs) notices and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) effectively
- Deliver CAPs onsite in conjunction with the Program Director and/or Assistant Program Director
- Follow up with the program to ensure documentation, training, and support are provided to the employee related to the CAP
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure that candidates are moving through the hiring process timely and efficiently
- Conducting investigations regarding employee grievances, harassment, and other types of investigations
Leave of Absence Management
- Facilitate Workers' Compensation claims. Identifying methods to reduce claims and safety
- Manage the FMLA process, administering approval for leave and evaluating restrictions
- Administer and track personal leaves of absences, ensuring timely return to work schedules
- Oversee paid and unpaid administration leave following DCF/DJJ and agency practices
- Point of contact for bereavement leave, jury duty, donated leave, and all other types of LOA requests
Audit Oversight and Record Keeping
- POC for external audits for YFA funders and contracts and partnering with HRG to ensure all requested personnel files are provided and accurate
- Adhere to background requirements according to Department of Children and Families/Department of Juvenile Justice (DCF/DJJ) standards
- Oversee personnel records internally and in HRIS (Paylocity) to ensure accuracy of all employee changes including terminations, new hires, position transfers, pay changes, and supervisor changes
Compliance and Other Duties as Assigned
- POC for EEOC, Affirmative, ACHA compliance, Claims, Employment Law, and Reporting
- Assists the Human Resources Director with review and updating of HR policies, to include an annual review of the employee handbook
- Backup to benefits administration during Open Enrollment, processing disability claims, Qualifying Life Events (QLE), and other benefit matters.
- Supervise two (2) Human Resources Generalists (HRG)
- Manage resources and forms related to compliance on the HR page of YFA's intranet site
- Conducts other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or management
Location: 7524 Plathe Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34653
Schedule: Hybrid schedule with 3 office days and 2 remote days upon completing introductory period
Requirements:WHAT YOU NEED:
The ideal candidate will have a strong HR Generalist background, knowledge of HR employment laws and best practices, ensure compliance, follow agency and external standards, and oversee various HR functions and projects.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required)
- 2+ years direct experience in Human Resources (required)
- Supervisory experience (preferred)
- HR certificate (preferred)
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 30 pounds, bend, stand and sit for extended periods of time. Travel on a local and regional basis required. Up to 20% travel, visiting all YFA site locations.
