Job Description


Part-Time Contract Federal Programs Director


Reports to: Superintendent


Supervises & Evaluates: All instructional personnel assigned to federal education programs and secretary


Qualifications: Valid Alabama teaching certificate, 3 years experience working in federal programs


Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees all federal education programs in the school district
  2. Works with the superintendent and school administration to establish budgets
  3. Completes all federal grant applications
  4. Provides expenditure control on established budgets for federal programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  5. Serves as the chairperson of the Advisory Committee regarding federal programs
  6. Conducts system needs assessments and develops the LEA consolidated plan
  7. Oversees Cognia diagnostics and the ACIP process
  8. Evaluates all federal education programs, facilities, curriculum, learning activities, materials and supplies, parent relationships, and teaching practices
  9. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required
  10. Prepares and submits reports and other documents as required by the Superintendent and the Board
  11. Assists the Superintendent in making recommendations relative to selection, transfer, dismissal, and assignment of personnel for the federal education program
  12. Works with principals and teachers to enhance student achievement
  13. Coordinates ESL Services and programs
  14. Oversees the Gifted Education program and participates in the screening and eligibility process
  15. Oversees First Class Pre-K, including the enrollment process, budgets, and required documentation
  16. Oversees fixed assets
  17. Attends state and regional meetings
  18. Plans with Superintendent personal professional development activities
  19. Performs such other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent and the Board
