RN – Surgery – Full Time (Day Shift, On Call)


Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital, stand-alone, not-for-profit hospital located in Ste. Genevieve, MO that focuses on personalized care. Requirements:

What to expect as an RN in Surgery:

  • Assist and coordinate perioperative care in the surgical suite and the central sterile department.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities such as integrity, courage, respect, empathy, and self-awareness.
  • Demonstrate safe perioperative care. Follow aseptic technique, have good manual dexterity to handle instrumentation and provide direct assistance to the surgeon during surgical procedures.
  • Follow proper sterilization guidelines. Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instrumentation to prevent patient injury and maximize surgical outcomes.
  • Function effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment. Completed complicated tasks with accuracy and exhibit excellent attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with all members of the surgery team to promote workflows and effective communication.
  • Adapt to change and have a strong work ethic. Able to prioritize tasks under pressure and demonstrate proper time management.
  • Use critical thinking skills, support efficiency, patient quality and safety.
  • Maintain a positive attitude to promote teamwork and a pleasant work environment.
  • Provide flexibility; adjust hours as needed to accommodate a variable surgery schedule, take rotating call (30 minute response time).
  • Be able to deliver personal, compassionate care and have excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications:
We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

  • Current Missouri RN license.
  • Surgery experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Previous EMR (Electronic Medical Record) experience required.
