Role Overview:
The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing technology solutions aligned with the business objectives and technical requirements of the Teradata migration project. This role requires extensive expertise in enterprise architecture, data migration strategies, and cloud-based solutions. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the architectural design and technical strategy for the migration of Teradata workloads to the target environment (Dell Managed Colo). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current infrastructure, identify gaps, and propose optimized solutions. Develop detailed migration blueprints, including data flow diagrams, system architecture, and integration points. Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards throughout the migration process. Provide technical leadership for SQL query optimization, schema refactoring, and workload validation on the target platform. Drive performance benchmarking and capacity planning for the new infrastructure. Mentor engineering teams on best practices and ensure alignment with architectural goals. Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a focus on data migration and enterprise infrastructure. Expertise in Teradata technologies (v14.1 or higher) and migration strategies. Proficient in cloud-native solutions, object storage (e.g., ECS), and modern compute platforms like PowerFlex. Strong knowledge of ETL processes, SQL query optimization, and data integration frameworks. Experience with interfacing systems such as Hadoop, Tableau, SAS, and Talend. Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and data security standards. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Skills:
Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) or database technologies. Familiarity with performance tuning tools and automated migration utilities. Experience in agile project environments and DevOps methodologies. Work Environment:
