The Global Procurement Lead - Direct Materials is an integral part of our Management team based out of our US - Teaneck, NJ site. The Global Procurement Lead for direct materials is responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement of active ingredients, raw materials, components, and services required for production. This role will lead the Direct Procurement team, develop sourcing strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials at competitive prices. The leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing and finance to support the overall supply chain strategy. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organization maintains a strong, cost-effective, and resilient supply chain and will play a key role in shaping procurement strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and drive sustainable business growth. Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies that support business goals, focusing on cost savings, quality, and risk management. Establish strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and drive supplier performance to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely delivery of materials. Lead initiatives to reduce costs without compromising quality or delivery timelines. Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within the supply chain. Manage and mentor a team of Category Managers and/or Buyers. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, providing guidance and development opportunities. Engage and align with key business stakeholders on business objectives and outcomes. Work closely with product development, operations, and finance teams to align procurement activities with overall company goals. Assess and mitigate supply chain risks by diversifying suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring contingency plans are in place. Use data and analytics to monitor procurement activities, track KPIs, and make informed decisions to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Lead negotiations for key contracts, ensuring favorable terms on pricing, delivery schedules, quality standards, and service agreements. Evaluate and qualify new suppliers to ensure they meet company standards and long-term business needs. Drive initiatives around sustainable sourcing and ethical supply chain practices. Skills

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Chemicals, or related field (Master’s preferred). 10-15 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on direct procurement (API, raw materials, minerals). Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and managing supplier relationships. Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract law, and risk management. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. Knowledge of ERP systems (JD Edwards and Oracle preferred) and procurement software tools. Certification in supply chain or procurement (CPSM, CSCP, or similar) is a plus.
