is seeking a Principal Cloud Services Engineer - Gaming. Our team is responsible for building and operating the services that power our games – whether they were released years ago or have yet to be announced. We’re looking for a services engineer with extensive experience in service development and cloud engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience with all aspects of the DevOps lifecycle, including planning, developing, testing, deploying, and operating large-scale highly available web services. They will also be committed to our mission of creating a work environment where people of a diverse range of backgrounds are excited to bring all of who they are and do their best work. Responsibilities
Mentor and guide our partners in designing and developing robust web services on our platform that align with Publishing’s needs and Microsoft’s compliance requirements. Cultivate and manage deep relationships with partners, ensuring their business needs are met while aligning with our strategic goals. Develop and maintain libraries, templates, practices, and documentation to ensure sustainable development and maintenance across our portfolio. Develop effective monitoring and alerting to achieve high availability. Troubleshoot and resolve service, website, and infrastructure failures. Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation. Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C#, Python, or Go. OR equivalent experience. ASP.NET Core service development experience. Experience developing and operating applications within Kubernetes. Experience with a cloud computing environment (Azure or others). Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
Operational experience with an observability stack, preferably Prometheus and Grafana. Demonstrable experience creating or contributing to Helm charts. Experience with Terraform, or comparable IaC tools. Operational experience with both Linux and Windows. CI/CD pipeline development experience (Azure DevOps or others). Experience with operating REST services. Website development and/or operations experience, especially with PHP/WordPress/Apache. Experience using the Kusto Query Language. Experience contributing to Open Source projects. History of game development experience or a passion for online gaming. Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
