The Xbox Game Studios Publishing (XGSP) team responsible for the recently released Towerborne, Ara: History Untold, Microsoft Flight Simulator, As Dusk Falls, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Tell Me Why is looking for a talented Full Stack Web Developer - Gaming to build scalable, engaging, community-focused, user-friendly, and accessible websites. You will work closely with internal colleagues and external partner studios to create websites for our growing portfolio of Microsoft published games. This role would suit candidates who have a desire to grow, develop new skills, and embrace our mission of building experiences for a diverse audience, all within the hugely supportive culture of Microsoft.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain key features for custom websites and forums focused on community engagement Convert designs for desktop, tablet, and mobile into responsive, accessible & reusable code Collaborate with our team of developers & designers by participating in code & design reviews Engage in discussions about design concepts, user experience, and technical feasibility Own, troubleshoot & solve compliance, security, and maintenance challenges Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript OR equivalent experience Hands-on experience developing production-ready websites from design mock-ups and ability to create interactive components that address complex user interactions Back-end skills in PHP and an understanding of the LAMP stack within a WSL environment Experience with pre-processors and build tools such as Sass, Webpack, NPM & Yarn Preferred/Additional Qualifications: Capable of leveraging common frameworks like Bootstrap to develop and maintain user interfaces Working knowledge & usage of WordPress core functions, filters & actions Understanding of design principles to effectively contribute to the creative process and enhance overall user experience Proficient in design collaboration tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch Experience with version control systems like Git and Agile development methodologies Utilization of automated testing tools like Accessibility Insights, Lighthouse, Puppeteer or PHPUnit Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
