Overview Halo Studios is building the future of the blockbuster Halo series of video games with Unreal Engine. This role will specialize in creating exceptional quality Characters, Armors, Aliens and Creatures. Candidates should have experience working with modeling and texturing tools to create AAA art. This candidate is expected to be extremely collaborative with Character Artists, Art Directors, Technical Artist, Animators and Game Designers. This candidate must be highly effective and positive in ambiguous situations, able to self-motivate to high performance, manage your time effectively and react quickly to changing requirements. Responsibilities Responsibilities Create top-quality character-related models and textures to set the quality bar for our project. Assist with Tech Art and Engineering in planning and implementing our art pipeline. Work closely with the Art Director and Leads to drive and evangelize our artistic vision. Assist in planning asset production in collaboration with the concept and design teams. Qualifications Qualifications Required /Minimum Q ualifications: Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Design, Fine Arts, Human Computer Interaction, Visual Communications or related art field AND 2+ years experience in art design or a related art field working on computer games or entertainmento OR equivalent experience. 2+ years in character art creation in game or film. Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred qualifications: Solid foundation in human anatomy and mechanical principles. Creative vision to take a character to completion from either a detailed or simple concept image Understanding of next generation asset creation pipelines and tools Knowledge of Maya or any core 3d modeling package Knowledge of Zbrush or equivalent sculpting program Knowledge of Substance Painter or any core texture painting package. Eye for light, shade, color, and detail in creating texture maps Art IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
