As a Senior Software Engineer on the Communication Team you will help us envision and build highly rich, immersive and engaging user communication experiences that feel like real life. You will design and architect capabilities that allow users to connect, communicate and co-experience on Roblox, in both 2D and 3D space. You will work closely with different teams (voice, avatar, game engine, trust & safety, other product teams) to build user experiences that millions of users engage with on a daily basis, while keeping them safe and civil. You Will:
Architect and build reusable components that help platformize communication to power user experiences on Roblox. Build highly engaging communication features on Party Chat that allows users to connect, coordinate and co-experience with their friends. Devise creative solutions to optimize and scale our systems to support communication for a billion people on the platform. Introduce and improve our processes to help us be more effective and efficient. Enforce high quality standards while we iterate on feature development. Collaborate with other engineering and product teams at the company to push the boundary of what is possible. Self-organize and take ownership of projects throughout its full lifecycle. Help recruit future talent for the team. You Have:
5+ years of experience as a front-end or client apps engineer working on complex user interfaces. Experience working on large-scale consumer applications in React/Redux, React Native, iOS, Android, Windows, Mac OS and other platforms. At least 3 years experience working on deep and challenging problems in complex C++ codebases. Hold a BS in Computer Science or above. For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits. Annual Salary Range $233,840 — $283,780 USD Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
