Summary:


SERVPRO is an Emergency Restoration, Remediation, Clean-up and Reconstruction company for residential and commercial buildings all around the southeastern Kansas region. We have been in business since 2001 and are currently looking for a qualified Bookkeeper & HR Administrator. This positions responsibilities would revolve around organizing accounts payable and receivables, paying taxes, running payroll, monitoring compliance (sharing our w-9. Insurance etc. with clients), and doing general problem solving work as issues arrise within the office. We are a lively environment and the day to day can change tremendously with a single ring of the phone. While the main focus of the role is with bookkeeping and HR administration there is also need to answer phones, provide customer service, and intake possible job leads.

This is an 8:00 am to 5:00 pm hourly role with overtime available. A lunch half hour to hour is provided during the day and some benefits are offered as well. We are a locally owned and operated franchise so one advantage is we are very flexible with our employees. When things happen with children, at home or whatever else we say just go ahead and take care of it.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Bookkeeping
    • Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks
    • Create financial reports and perform analysis
    • Monitor and maintain inventory, fixed assets and business inventory
    • Maintain tax, insurance, and compliance requirements
    • Maintain vendors, resources, and subcontractors
  • Cash Management
    • Complete accounts payable activities
    • Complete accounts receivable activities
    • Maintain petty cash fund
    • Prepare and maintain cash management reports
  • Human Resource Administration
    • Coordinate and administer payroll and benefits
    • Complete and document HR compliance
  • Customer/Client Service
    • Answer phones and emails giving answers or directing to other team members
    • Intaking possible projects
    • Help direct technicians in field
Minimum Experience and Skill Set


2 years experience in bookkeeping
2 years experience with Quickbooks
2 years experience with collection activities
Working knowledge of current business software technologies
Superb skills in customer service, administration, verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills
Ability to learn new softwares
Ability to multitask
Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law

Formal Education


High School Diploma
Associate degree in accounting preferred or a strong professional background of 2-3 bookkeeping experience

Normal working hours


This is a full time position 8:00 am 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime maybe necessary during large storm events.

Pay comenserate with experience.
