East West Tea is seeking a talented, passionate, and experienced Assistant Production Manager to join our Tea Production team in supervising and coordinating production activities to ensure efficient operations and supporting the achievement of production goals.

The Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager in supervising and coordinating shift-level production activities to ensure efficient operations, quality standards, and adherence to safety protocols. This role involves direct supervision of production team members during assigned shifts, providing leadership, training, and support to achieve production goals. This role also manages the Yogi blending and is responsible for process improvements, and ensuring programs meet expectations.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN:

Shift Supervision & Team Leadership 50% of time

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of Yogi employees.

• Ensure team members have access to necessary resources, information and supplies to complete their jobs effectively and safely.

• Lead and support shift production teams to meet daily quality, safety, and production targets.

• Train, coach, and develop production staff, fostering a positive team environment that encourages accountability and high performance.

• Provide guidance and corrective feedback as needed, ensuring that employees adhere to company policies and procedures.

Blending Program Management 35% of time

• Develop and manage programs related to blending operations, including standard operating procedures, sanitation and PM schedules, documentation templates and process flows.

• Work with quality and sanitation to develop food safety and quality programs specific to blending.

• Develop metrics and tracking methods to monitor blend performance. Create a reporting cadence and use data to drive improvements.

Cross-Departmental Coordination 15% of time

• Work closely with departments such as Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Customer Service to ensure seamless shift operations and timely production output.

• Communicate and coordinate with Maintenance on equipment repairs and optimizations to minimize disruptions.

WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE EXPERIENCED:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• Minimum 5 years of production experience, preferably in Consumer Packaged Goods

• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience and program development

• Background in safety, OSHA certifications preferred

• Working knowledge of document control, inventory management practices, facility security, maintenance and sanitation practices

• Food, Beverage or Dietary Supplement experience preferred

• Comfortable working in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Familiar with compliance / GMP’s and CFR Part 111 Dietary Supplement Regulations

• ERP experience
