PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Manager and their direct reports will be responsible for designing optimized production processes through collaboration and documentation, as well as maintaining an interface between the design teams and production staff.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly responsible for a team of manufacturing engineers and wiring designers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Harmonize and improve wiring manufacturing processes across all IEM production facilities.
- Work with electrical design engineering teams to improve designs for manufacturability
- Coordinate pilot programs to test new manufacturing processes, equipment, or technologies. Evaluate outcomes and drive the adoption of successful programs across the company.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards for any work produced by the Electrical Manufacturing engineering team. Provide technical guidance and support as needed.
- Work closely with operations and production teams to identify bottlenecks, implement process improvements, and ensure alignment between engineering and manufacturing goals.
- Provide hands-on technical support for production teams when issues arise, ensuring quick resolution to minimize downtime.
- Regularly walks the factory floors to work with production teams and inspect equipment in progress. Follow up with necessary parties as needed.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing guidelines for electrical processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams including operations, quality assurance, production, design engineering and mechanical counterparts to ensure smooth integration of design and manufacturing processes.
- Work with Design to order, New product development and R&D engineering teams to create designs that are optimized for manufacturing.
- Aid Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams in root cause investigations.
- Track and report on key performance metrics related to process improvements, production efficiency, and design accuracy.
- Travel to IEM plants regularly to follow up with local team members and key stakeholders. Travel not to exceed 25%.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes, implement solutions, and optimize processes.
- Strong analytical capabilities for evaluating pilot programs and process improvements.
- Experience with leading processes improvement initiatives.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in the design and validation of wiring schematics and manufacturing processes.
- Openness to innovation and new ideas. Ability to adapt to new challenges and lead change initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Focused on achieving measurable results in terms of process improvements, production efficiency, and team performance.
- Familiar with functional and production validation testing methods and best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Four-year college degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, a related field, or comparable work experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in a role focused on optimizing electrical manufacturing processes.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role mentoring a group of manufacturing engineers.
