About the Job
As a Weld and Forming Process Engineer, you will be at the forefront of improving manufacturing processes related to welding and forming equipment such as laser, plasma, and resistance welding systems. This role involves collaborating across departments, including production, quality, maintenance, and planning, to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality. You will play a critical role in projects that have a direct impact on production throughput and operational excellence.

What youll be doing:
- Evaluating equipment, processes, and operations to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
- Leading process changes and updating operational standards.
- Reviewing vendor proposals for new equipment and overseeing the selection and implementation of suitable manufacturing processes.
- Working with production and maintenance teams to ensure equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
- Conducting Capability Studies and Time Studies to identify optimization opportunities.
- Developing processes and visual work instructions to improve productivity.
- Troubleshooting production issues and supporting daily operations.
- Reducing scrap, rework, and cycle times through process improvements.
- Specifying and managing tools, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment.
- Leading or participating in Kaizen events focused on continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Material Science, Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 2-4 years of engineering project experience in metal manufacturing.
- Expertise in Lean manufacturing techniques, FMEA, process mapping, and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Creo, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong project management skills and experience leading engineering initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet aggressive deadlines.
- A detail-oriented approach with the ability to understand and improve complex process interactions.
