About This Role:

The Technical Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for interpreting, translating, and migrating engineering design documentation into the manufacturing and production ecosystem. Though largely an administrative and data-entry focused role, a successful candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, flexibility, and a willingness to learn.

A Day In The Life:

  • This position will report to Director of Engineering

  • Interpretation of mechanical and electrical engineering design documentation. Notably, fabrication drawings, power electronics and industrial controls schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering Bills of Materials, etc.

  • Translation of design engineering documentation into production specific information. E.g. extracting raw materials, modified parts, and purchased parts from engineered Bills Of Material (BOMs).

  • Effective and timely communication of deliverables to purchasing production, inventory, and project management.

  • Supporting engineering team and procurement group by collaborating with outside suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes and proposals.

  • Entering of planning deliverables into the company ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software.

  • Generate and maintain Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Work Instructions, while working side-by-side with Engineering’s Document Control Administration.

  • Identify when/where there is a need for standard or special gauging, and special equipment/tooling for production.

  • Drive First Pass Yield (FPY) and Overall Process Effectiveness (OPE) improvement.

  • Work with a multifunctional team including Engineering, Production, Procurement, and CNC Programmers

  • Provide timely support in resolving manufacturing issues.

  • Additional duties as necessary to advance the mission of the organization.

You Will Thrive In This Role If:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in an engineering or related field.

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Organized and detail oriented.

  • Exposure to manufacturing, mechanical machinery, power electronics, or industrial controls

  • Willingness to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

  • Experience reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and/or electrical schematics.

  • Experience reading and interpreting Engineering Bills of Materials

  • This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

  • Familiarity with sourcing and purchasing practices for manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with ERP software

  • Familiarity with SolidWorks is a plus, but not a requirement.

  • Familiarity with typical productivity software (Xcel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Compensation Range:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $70,000 - $100,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Pay to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
