Job Title: Sit-Down Forklift Operator

Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)

Location: Secaucus, NJ

Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and skilled Sit-Down Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a sit-down forklift to move materials and products throughout the warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory management, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role requires attention to detail, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move, load, unload, and stack products/materials in the warehouse.
• Load and unload trucks as required, ensuring proper handling of materials.
• Transport goods to appropriate locations within the warehouse, ensuring safe storage and organization.
• Conduct pre-shift inspections of the forklift to ensure proper functioning and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
• Assist in inventory management by ensuring proper storage and labeling of materials.
• Assist with order picking and packaging when needed.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or warehouse manager.

Qualifications:

• Valid forklift certification (sit-down forklift). - preferred but not required 
• Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or industrial setting is required.
• Basic understanding of warehouse operations and safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to [insert weight, typically 50-75 lbs.] and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing work conditions.

Work Schedule:

• Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Lunch: 1-hour break
