FOH LEADER
PLANTA Restaurants in River North, Chicago is seeking a FOH Manager to join our leadership team. The FOH Manager will work in tandem with the other restaurant leaders to support the day-to-day operations while overseeing the FOH staff, driving profitability and consistency. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- A track record of progressive sophisticated-casual restaurant experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership position in a comparable, fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Advanced knowledge of traditional and contemporary cocktails, wine and beer
- Hands on experience with all aspects of bar operations – ordering, inventory management, maintaining bar supplies and equipment, cost control and staff training
- Strong understanding of how to drive profitability through cost control and sales growth strategies
- A solution focused and hands-on leadership style
- Iron clad integrity, sound decision making ability, and analytical mindset
- An innovative mindset towards business growth
- Passion for and knowledge of plant-based ingredients preferred, but we're happy to show you the way!
- Ability to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, per the needs of the business
- Relevant certifications such as ServSafe or TIPS training are a plus!
WHAT'S ON YOUR PLATE:
- Championing hospitality for both guests and employees by creating a welcoming, positive environment
- Actively participating in service and bar operations, exemplifying standards, while driving sales performance and ensuring guest satisfaction
- Engaging with guests to ensure all inquiries and feedback are handled in a timely and appropriate way
- Overseeing product preparation, presentation, and service to ensure adherence to restaurant standards
- Responsibility for ambiance and experience of the bar and bar areas including general cleanliness and organization, music, lighting and entertainment coordination where applicable
- Taking ownership of business performance by maintaining protocols, conducting monthly inventory, maintaining accurate par levels and pricing structures, and optimizing cost via purchasing
- Directing purchasing operations for all bar ingredients including liquor, wine, beer, NA items, and garnishes and supplies; cultivate partnerships with distributors and negotiate with vendors for the best pricing possible
- Manage all aspects of beverage and bar training for staff, including new item education, technique training, and beverage sales/pairing training
- Maintaining accurate POS systems including inventory, modifications, prices
- Fostering positive and direct lines of communication between all departments and senior leadership
- Ensuring that all team members are compliant with Company’s policies and procedures, as well as city, state, and federal laws
- Promoting a safe working and guest environment by enforcing health & safety regulations, including alcohol and security procedures
- Coordinating repairs, maintenance and preventative upkeep for the building, facility, and grounds
- Assisting with overall restaurant tasks, including opening and closing procedures, reporting, or scheduling as assigned by the General Manager to ensure efficient daily operations
