As a leader in the industry, the firm is experiencing significant growth and seeks a skilled Senior Project Accountant to support its expanding portfolio of complex construction projects. Job Description Project Financial Management: Oversee all financial aspects of assigned construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking. Monitor project budgets, actual costs, and variances, providing regular updates to project managers and senior leadership. Prepare and maintain accurate project financial reports, including WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules, billings, and change orders. Billing and Revenue Recognition: Manage project invoicing processes, including reviewing and submitting client billings. Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition in accordance with company policies and GAAP. Cost Control and Analysis: Collaborate with project teams to analyze cost data, identify potential overruns, and recommend corrective actions. Track subcontractor costs, purchase orders, and vendor invoices to ensure proper allocation to projects. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to contractual terms and compliance with internal and external audit requirements. Maintain organized project documentation, including contracts, amendments, and financial records. The Successful Applicant Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or CMA designation is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or real estate development industry. Proven experience managing the financial aspects of multi-million-dollar construction projects. Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
