Job Description As a Project Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth financial management of construction projects. Your key responsibilities include: Owner Billings: Review owner contracts to identify terms for accurate billing, and prepare timely, accurate owner billings in line with contractual obligations. Job Cost Management: Analyze and process job-related costs while adhering to internal control procedures. Reconcile job costs to monthly billings and identify any unbilled or late-billed costs. Coordination with Project Teams: Work closely with project teams to ensure the billing process runs smoothly, communicating effectively to ensure all costs are captured. Subcontractor Payments: Ensure subcontractors are paid promptly in exchange for waivers and compile waiver packages for project documentation. Job Closeout: Assist in closing out jobs by preparing accruals, reconciling profits and losses, and ensuring all financials are accurately captured at project completion. Insurance Compliance: Understand and manage subcontractor insurance compliance and its impact on billing and project timelines. Cash Flow Impact: Monitor the impact of cash flow on projects and ensure financial management supports overall project timelines and goals. The Successful Applicant The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background, ideally with experience in construction or property management, and a keen attention to detail. You should possess: Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred. Experience: At least 3 years of accounting-related experience, with construction or property management experience being a plus. Skills: Strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Teamwork: Able to work both independently and collaboratively with project teams to meet deadlines and achieve results. Organizational Ability: Comfortable handling multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
