GENERAL FUNCTION:Under the supervision of the Camp Branch Director, the Camp Office Assistant will support the daily operations of Camp providing exceptional customer service to participants, parents, camp guests, and staff. This position plays a critical role in maintaining communication between the camp administrative office, camp accounting office, bus drop off locations, and families. The Camp Office Assistant will be the lead for camp KDHE compliance and general office tasks.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience Requirements:
  1. Minimum age of 18
  2. High school diploma or equivalent required
  3. Knowledge and previous experience with KDHE records and file keeping requirements.


Physical/Mental Requirements:
  1. Must be able to routinely perform the following moderate physical activities; climb, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear, and have visual acuity.
  2. Must possess mental alertness, problem solving and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
  3. Must demonstrate a high level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment, and the desire to work with all ages.
  4. Must always present a neat and professional appearance.


Job Requirements:
  1. Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision, and values.
  2. Must attend New Employee Orientation and meet applicable KDHE requirements within 30 days of hire.
  3. Current certification in Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid.
  4. Complete Listen First Workshop and KDHE Health and Safety trainings as applicable to current regulations and in accordance with Conditions of Employment.
  5. Understand and abide by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association and regulatory agencies.
  6. Work a schedule that reflects the needs of the branch, including evenings and weekends.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Entering data to include KDHE records, Medication Administration, timesheets, supply orders, and posting of payments.
  2. Serving as branch point of contact and organizer for projects and itineraries.
  3. Ensuring accurate and timely completion of paperwork for all camp participants and staff.
  4. Maintaining training calendar and schedules.
  5. Maintaining and ordering office and First Aid supplies.
  6. Collecting and forwarding all accident/incident reports to Metro within 24 hours of incident.
  7. All other duties as assigned.


EFFECT ON END RESULTS: Ensuring children feel positive and look forward to coming to camp. Ensuring parents are pleased with the growth and development of the child(ren), positively affecting overall program stability. High quality school age program exceeding minimum license requirements for health, safety, and youth engagement.
