Responsibilities

  • Develop the sales opportunity pipeline by working with existing customer to ensure that Synergy is participating in all new product development initiatives at both key accounts.
  • Develop existing relationships with key decision makers across functions (R&D, Purchasing, Sales, Leadership)
  • Proactively create opportunities for collaboration across functions at all levels between Synergy and both accounts.
  • Prepare client meeting schedule to ensure all key personnel are being meet with on a regular basis by appropriate staff and projects are brought to completion
  • Develop and maintain a Key Account Plan that will outline the goals for the account, and actions and resources required (technical, marketing, regulatory, etc.) to achieve them
  • Negotiate price/volume contracts with both accounts. Maintain a Master Supply Agreement.
  • Annual budget and monthly forecasting preparation required for both accounts.
  • Timely maintenance and submission of all required sales and expense records and reports including but not limited to: expense reports, open orders report, forecasts, travel calendar, etc.
  • Attend sales training, trade shows, industry functions and meetings as required
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the food industry and the competitive environment to facilitate business development efforts and to keep other Company staff informed of changes and developments in the market
Skills and Requirements
  • Strong understanding and adoption of CRM and Power BI Tools
  • Bachelor's degree with an area of discipline preferred in marketing, biology, chemistry or food science
  • 2 plus years of flavor ingredient sales experience calling on major food and beverage companies
  • Proven ability to sell ingredients to multiple buying influences
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adept at building rapport and collaborating across all levels of the organization and across cultures
  • Must be able to establish priorities and determine validity of assignments and project work for potential new business
  • 50% overnight or/as required to meet territory objectives
  • Maintain a presence in Wauconda one day per week
