Position Summary:

The Benefits Specialist will be responsible for assisting with design, deployment and administration of all benefits and wellness programs, as well as support cross-functional ad hoc HR administrative tasks. The individual will play a key role in supporting the analysis, planning, development, benchmarking, and execution of benefit and wellness programs. This role is hybrid with an expectation to be onsite 2 days out of the week.

Benefits:

  • Administer daily benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and wellness initiatives.
  • Participate and provide insight in the annual benefits renewal
  • Coordinate and manage employee benefit enrollments, including new hires, life events, and open enrollment
  • Reconcile and submit billing for benefits carriers and purchase orders within Coupa, while collaborating with Legal to submit new vendor contracts in the legal system, Collaborate
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and configure, when necessary, the benefits enrollment system - Workday.
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding benefit options and resolve inquiries, providing a high level of customer service and support.Maintain and update benefits data within the Workday system, ensuring accurate recordkeeping, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to resolve issues, process claims, and coordinate program changes or enhancements.
  • Responsible for all benefit-related communications including open enrollment material, benefit guides and intranet content.
  • Utilize Workday to generate reports and analyze benefits data to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate daily benefit processing, ensuring all third-party enrollment discrepancies are resolved.
  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure employer contributions and payroll deductions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Design, promote, and support employee wellness programs and initiatives, leveraging Wellable to track participation, engagement, and program impact.
  • Ensure benefit programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct regular audits and make adjustments as needed to maintain compliance.
  • Assist in the administration of employee leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), parental leave, short-term and long-term disability, and other leave types. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements, accurately track leave status, and manage employee leave records within Workday.
General HR administration:
  • Complete the necessary recordkeeping, reporting, and other paperwork in accordance with federal, state, and provider regulations including business audits.
  • Assist in keeping the company compliant with multi-state, federal and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with all HR functions such as Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and Human Resources Business Partners on cross-functional projects.
  • Participate in the planning of employee activities and team building events.
  • File annual EEO-1 Report.
  • Assist with updates and maintenance of the HR department and Benefit company intranet (ARC).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:

Required:
  • Minimum BA/BS in Human Resources or Business with 2 years' related experience (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered).
  • General knowledge of basic HR practices.
  • Previous experience in working within Workday Core and Benefits.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • A basic understanding of the laws and rules governing the administration of benefits (such as the ADA, FLMA, CFRA, 125, DOL, and IRS rules and regulations
  • Effective time management skills and a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good strategic and critical thinking abilities.
  • Previous experience in managing HRIS and benefits systems.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver a high volume of work and deliverables across multiple projects and programs, demonstrating flexibility and resilience amid evolving priorities.
  • Eager to learn in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a growing organization's needs.
  • Strong sense of good judgement and ability to maintain confidential information is critical.
  • Strong communication skills (oral/written) and good PC skills.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Excel.
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Must understand and respect company core values and possess the highest integrity.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this job. Laboratory Activities (if applicable): Biology and chemical laboratory environment experience needed. Environmental health and safety requirements also apply.

Travel:

You may be required to travel for up to 5% of your time.

The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $58,000-$77,000

In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. We also provide top-notch health insurance plans for employees (and their families) to include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance, 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and a winter company shutdown.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
