Position Summary: An Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the finance department, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions. The role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining financial records. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: 1. Accounts Payable and Receivable: o Process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely and accurate manner. o Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies. 2. Data Entry and Record Keeping: o Accurately input financial data into accounting software. o Maintain and organize financial records, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. 3. Bank Reconciliation: o Reconcile bank statements with internal financial records. o Investigate and resolve any discrepancies. 4. Expense Management: o Assist in monitoring company expenses and preparing expense reports. o Ensure compliance with organizational policies. 5. Administrative Support: o Assist with preparing financial statements and reports as needed. o Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters. 6. Compliance and Auditing: o Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information. o Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial regulations. ________________________________________ Qualifications and Skills: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. Experience:
o 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or clerical role is preferred. o Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Yardi, Expensify,
) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Skills:
o Strong numerical and analytical abilities. o Excellent organizational and time-management skills. o High level of accuracy and attention to detail. o Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Other Requirements:
o Ability to handle confidential information responsibly. o Willingness to adapt to new tools, software, and processes. ________________________________________ Work Environment: Typically, an office-based role with standard working hours. Occasional overtime may be required during financial reporting periods.
