This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing high-quality special education services to students with diverse needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work collaboratively with educators, families, and other professionals to ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies and interventions as necessary.
Utilize skills to conduct assessments, deliver instruction, and communicate effectively with students and families.
Provide training and support to school staff and families on strategies for supporting bilingual students with special needs.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school district policies and special education regulations.
Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other meetings as required, providing clear and effective communication.
Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments and support student progress.
Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, and self-contained classrooms.
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
Valid Illinois teaching license with LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist1) endorsement.
Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a multicultural setting.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
