Job Details Job Location: NEW YORK CITY - NEW YORK CITY, NY Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $50.00 - $70.00 Hourly Special Inspector Urban Engineers is seeking qualified individuals in Queens, NY to join our Facilities CM Department as Special Inspector (NDT). This position will be supporting upcoming projects at the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Responsibilities : Perform Special Inspections on Welding NDT's Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, and Penetrant testing. Monitor Calibration certificates of NDT equipment used. Responsible for maintaining and managing reports, daily narratives, quantities tested, classified logs and time & material tickets. Responsible for site safety, permit compliance and coordination with other adjacent projects. Monitor Contractor's conformance with codes, standards, drawings and specifications. Prepare punch lists with the owner upon completion of the project. Additional responsibilities For NDT Level III personnel. Administers the Urban Engineer's NDT qualification and certification program Conducts training, prepare and administers examinations for qualification in specific NDT Methods. Establishes techniques and procedures; interprets codes, standards, specifications and procedures. Designates the particular NDT methods, techniques and procedures to be used. Responsible for the NDT operations within Urban Engineers and shall be capable of interpreting and evaluating results in terms of existing codes, standards and specifications. Establishes techniques and assist in establishing acceptance criteria where none are otherwise available. Requirements : ASNT Level II Certification on UT, MT and PT. ASNT Level III Certification is preferred. Over 5 years of experience as an NDT Technician. Must have a strong Knowledge of NYC building code OSHA 30-hour safety course certification preferred or the ability to acquire certification immediately. Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred. New York State Professional Engineering license is preferred.
