NDT Inspector II Purpose: Continental Tide has an immediate need for a NDT Inspector II who will be a key support to the Quality Assurance Department. The location of this position is in National City, CA. Job Description: The Level II NDT Tech will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with customer and government contractual requirements related to NDT by preparing, maintaining, and reviewing procurement and contractual documents. Interface with customer representatives for relevant quality/technical issues. This includes Statements of Work, Specifications, Quality Plans, and other relevant documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of NDT processes and standards related to working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items and shipboard QA inspections, coupled with strong attention to detail. A history of performing shipboard surveillances of structural, piping, ventilation, electrical installation, and generating Quality Assurance reports. You will evaluate, record, and maintain the history of quality metrics. Analysis of quality data using statistical methods to drive process and design improvements. Interface with customer representatives for relevant quality/technical issues. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that all NDT activities meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. Required Experience: Qualifications: High school Diploma or equivalent in Vocational and US military schools. Must have an ASNT NDT Certification with a nondestructive testing background. Five (5) to Ten (10) years of experience as an NDT QA Inspector. Certifications: PLC, WAF, VT II and PT II Prior experience in performing Quality Assurance support tasks associated with mechanical and structural/piping/electrical repair and upgrades and installation of electronic systems on US Navy Ships. Previous hands-on experience with shipboard electrical/structural installation including Cable, Connectors, power Modifications, and structural modification. Must be able to read and understand Ship Installation Drawings. Experience with JFMM, 9090-310, NAVSEA Standard Items, NAVSSES 4790.2 Series Installation documentation, WAF/TUMS. Understanding of shipboard/shipyard environment is a must. Five (5) years of experience with US NAVY ships Structural, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems and equipment including shipboard electric, power generation and transmission equipment. Experience in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), cableway, fiber optics, integrated network systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a mandatory requirement. Must have experience in evaluation of subcontractors and vendors assessing they meet quality assurance requirements. Capable of writing and interpreting procedures and standards. Desired Qualifications: Prior experience in leading small installation teams. Security Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and Naval installations. Travel Requirements: Occasional Travel- less than 10% If a position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. Moving about accomplishing tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
