JOB REQUIREMENTS: Pre Production Lab Tech (2203) 6701 Good Hope Rd, Milwaukee, WI 53223, USA Req #947 Wednesday, October 16, 2024 Our Pre-Production Lab Technician will: Be responsible for conducting various inspections, dimensional measurements, and performance tests to support product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and compliance Work in a lab environment utilizing equipment including but not limited to- tensile testers, water baths, ovens, scales, force gauges, calipers, gage pins, and height gages Be responsible for documenting and communicating results as well as supporting the management of test samples HellermannTyton is always looking for the best and brightest talent and we need you! Essential Functions: Read and interpret drawings. Perform visual inspections, measurements, and mechanical tests using tensile testers, water baths, oven, scales, force gauges, calipers, gage pins, height gages, and other lab equipment as needed. Offer suggestions or ideas for product test setups. Cut and cross-section parts as needed. Photograph product, test set ups, failure modes, etc. Identify failure modes and potential root causes. Record results, defects, deviations, etc. in detailed reports or control software. Navigate and utilize software such as JDE, SQC Pack, and MQ1. Help to monitor maintenance and calibration for lab equipment. Communicate effectively and in a professional manner - both verbally and in writing. Prepare PPAP reports. Organize, prioritize, and multi-task daily activities to support project priorities. Manage test samples. Keep a clean and organized work environment. Success in this role will require: Detail orientated and organized. Professional and service-orientated. Ability to work independently and in a group environment. Basic math and computer skills. Software skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Motivated with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work overtime on weekdays to meet the needs of the department and customer. What You Bring: High school diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years of experience in product inspection and testing in a Manufacturing Quality Lab. Experience using test and measurement equipment. Technical/print reading skills. Knowledge of GD&T is preferred. This job frequently requires the employee to sit, stand, crouch, bend over to lift, and walk for periods of time.
