Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team - Peer Support Specialist

As our full-time Certified Peer Support Specialist on our ACTT (Assertive Community Treatment) Team, you will be responsible for providing highly individualized services in the community and promoting the self-determination and shared decision-making abilities of our members. The CPSS on this team provides individualized, strengths focused community-based interactions with assigned caseload for the purpose of promoting the development of wellness, self-management, personal recovery, natural supports, coping skills, and self-advocacy skills.
We empower our Peer Support Specialists to utilize their personal experiences with mental health and/or substance to connect, teach, model, and support the development of skills for ongoing treatment and recovery.
This position is community-based, covering Wake, Johnston, and Durham counties. Candidate must be able to attend daily morning team meetings in Raleigh. We provide mileage reimbursement!
Schedule
Flexible - 40 hours per week.
Pay
Starting pay is $19.00 per hour.

Full-time employees are eligible for medical benefits the first of the month 30 days after hire date. Options for a standard plan and an HSA plan with a $300 initial contribution and up to a $25 per paycheck match. 10 paid holidays and PTO hours which accrue at a rate of 10 hours per month. After 6 months employees are eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan which has a 4% match. Company paid life insurance, short and long term disability, in house and paid training opportunities, and additional pay for working holidays. SouthLight provides mileage reimbursement.
Responsibilities of an ACT Team Certified Peer Support Specialist
• Assist clients with self-determination and decision-making
• Model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal action to encourage wellness
• Teach and promote self-advocacy and wellness management
• Provide linkage to community resources
• Maintain and submit documentation (treatment plans, WRAP, service notes, service auth requests)
Qualifications of a, ACT Team Certified Peer Support Specialist
- Current Peer Support Certification
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- HS diploma or GED
- Min of 1 year working with the adult Mental Health/Substance Use population, preferably in a community setting
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to frequent change in work flow based on client need and service structure
