Summary You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (MATERIAL HANDLER) in the BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY (BUMED) of NAVMEDRSCHCEN SILVER SPRING MD. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the receipt, storage, and issuance of medical supplies and material. You will ensure the proper establishment and maintenance of accountability procedures. You will verify received items against documents for correct quantity, condition, stock number, and nomenclature, and input information/receipts via an Automated Information System. You will demonstrate proper work methods while working along with other workers and set the pace. You will assist with loading/unloading trucks as required. You will establish, maintain, revise and cancel stock levels based on historical demand. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience receiving incoming medical material, supplies and equipment and verifying received items via an Automated Information System such as Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS). Experience locating and assembling stock for both external and internal customers for shipment. Experience researching various supply sources for availability, shelf life, and special contracting needs. Experience assisting in loading/unloading trucks. Experience storing, safeguarding and maintaining material within assigned storage areas. Experience operating electric pallet jacks and/or gasoline powered forklifts. Education Additional Information This position requires rotating shift work. This position requires evening and weekend work.
