Pay Rate: $60,445.00| 100% Onsite | Monday-Friday| 8:00 AM - 4:30PM
Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Book & Publication Designer is a specialist, and the role is a key part of the Choctaw Cultural Center Education Department’s mission to preserve and perpetuate the history and culture of the Choctaw Nation. By combining creative and technical skills, you will create visually appealing interior layouts and cover designs that attract and inform readers. You will report to the Director of Education.
Primary Tasks:
You will provide guidance to staff to ensure program goals and deadlines are met.
Coordinates the program budget and staffing requirements and ensures the program meets goals.
Manage daily program activities and ensure program requirements are met.
Oversee administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient operations of the program.
You will develop partnerships to share resources, expertise, and collaborate in developing and evaluating projects.
Create and submit required program reports and ensure grant compliance.
You will maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date records per program requirements.
Monitor program activities to ensure adherence to tribal, federal and program policies, regulations, and goals.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field, OR nine [9] years of directly related experience in lieu of education.
Knowledge of business and financial strategies
Communicate (orally and in writing) with peers and management.
Knowledge of computers and software including Microsoft Suite, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
2 years demonstrated proficiency in creating digital and print layouts utilizing principles of design elements, typography, color theory, printing production, and marketing/branding using current professional design software
