We are currently seeking a Front Office Assistant for our Medical Clinic who is passionate about alleviating suffering, enhancing health, and improving our patients' quality of life. You will be responsible for greeting and assisting patients and visitors, scheduling appointments using our electronic medical record system, answering phones, and assuring that our customers receive exceptional service.If youre a candidate who shares our vision of putting patients first in everything you do, and who is passionate about helping people lead their best possible lives, then we look forward to meeting and talking with you.
POSITION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and assist patients and visitors with scheduling appointments, answer phones and other administrative support and paperwork, including collecting payments
- Answer telephone courteously and promptly, providing appropriate information, taking messages, referring calls to other office staff when necessary
- Document patient interactions in EMR (electronic medical record) and forward to correct staff member or provider
- Verify and update patient demographic information. Advise billing staff if necessary
- Process patient correspondence (new patient paperwork, denial, dismissal, etc)
- Process patient missed appointments by rescheduling or documenting absence
- Request medical records from physicians and other medical facilities as necessary
- Process incoming faxes.
- Process payments (cash/check/credit card).
- Prepare end of day deposits (cash/check/credit card).
- Process and distribute office mail.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and patient waiting area.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Prioritize tasks efficiently while considering the overall office workload.
- Coordinate translation for Spanish speaking patients when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES:
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: 1-2 years (preferred)
- Medical office experience: 1-2 years (preferred)
- Electronic Health Records: 1-2 years (preferred)
- Personable and well spoken with a high relationship IQ.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all clinic staff, including patients, fellow employees and managers.
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to stay focused in a busy environment and handle distractions well
