CLA is seeking a new

General Counsel.

This role serves as the chief legal officer of CLA's network of offices and for oversight of CLA's legal team. They are a trusted advisor to CLA's accounting and wealth management professionals and management as they review client relationships, employment matters, and other legal issues. They are responsible for ensuring CLA complies with all legal requirements and provide representation to CLA in all legal disputes. As General Counsel you will be responsible for:

Provide legal guidance on various aspects of the law, including corporate governance, employment, contracts, compliance, intellectual property, and litigation. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the firm's compliance with laws and regulations. Negotiate, draft, and review legal documents and agreements to protect the firm's legal and business interests. Manage external counsel and oversee the work performed in support of the firm's legal matters. Advise the executive team and board of directors on legal risks and strategies. Lead the legal department and supervise in-house attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff. Stay current with changes in laws and regulations that affect the firm and its operations. What you will need:

7 years of experience practicing law is required. Experience in a corporate or professional services environment is preferred. Juris Doctorate degree is required. Admission to the bar required. Prefer bar license to be in the applicable state where the firm's legal team resides. Our Perks:
