As the General Counsel at Digital Factory, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal guidance and leadership across all aspects of our operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the company’s legal affairs, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, you will provide expert advice on intellectual property matters, leveraging your experience and expertise in technology and IP law.

THIS POSITION WILL ENTAIL: Provide legal counsel and guidance to executive leadership on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Lead and manage the legal department, including training and supervising a team of attorneys and legal professionals. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including commercial contracts, licensing agreements, and strategic partnerships. Advise on intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and develop strategies to protect the company’s IP assets. Manage litigation and disputes, working closely with external counsel as needed to resolve legal matters efficiently and effectively. Stay abreast of developments in technology law and industry trends, providing proactive advice to mitigate legal risks and capitalize on opportunities. Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization to support business objectives while safeguarding legal and ethical standards. Represent the company in negotiations, transactions, and other legal matters with external parties, including customers, vendors, and regulatory authorities. Drive a culture of integrity, compliance, and ethical behavior throughout the organization, serving as a trusted advisor to all stakeholders. Other duties as assigned. DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated expertise in technology law, including experience advising technology companies on legal and regulatory issues. Strong understanding of intellectual property law, with experience in patent prosecution, trademark registration, and IP enforcement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively to non-legal stakeholders. Proven leadership ability, with experience managing a legal team and providing strategic direction in a fast-paced environment. Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance legal considerations with business objectives. High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical conduct. Experience working in the technology industry or technology companies. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. Experience working with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships across an organization. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the bar in good standing in at least one jurisdiction. Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on technology, intellectual property, and corporate matters.
