Expression is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of cutting-edge technology solutions. This role will focus on data-centric architectures, AI/ML applications, and robust, scalable systems that address complex challenges within federal government environments. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Data Lakes, Data Meshes, AI/ML technologies, and design-based software development to shape next-generation solutions. Location: Hybrid in the DMV area Key Responsibilities: Architectural Design and Strategy:

Develop enterprise-level architectural strategies for data platforms, including Data Lakes, Data Meshes, and AI/ML frameworks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architecture with business goals, client requirements, and compliance standards. Design scalable, resilient, and secure systems leveraging modern cloud platforms and big data technologies.

Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to engineering and development teams during the implementation of solutions. Champion best practices in design-based software development, microservices, and modular architecture. Ensure the technical feasibility and scalability of proposed solutions, while maintaining focus on cost efficiency. AI/ML Integration: Design and implement AI/ML pipelines that integrate with existing architectures for analytics, decision-making, and predictive modeling. Lead the integration of AI-driven solutions into federal government systems, ensuring security and performance optimization. Federal Government Engagement Understand and address the unique requirements of federal clients, including compliance with regulations (e.g., FISMA, NIST, CMMC). Partner with stakeholders to translate mission needs into technical solutions that align with agency goals. Engage in proposal development and RFP responses, providing technical solutions and strategies. Innovation and Emerging Technologies: Stay at the forefront of emerging trends in Data Lakes, Data Meshes, and AI/ML, assessing applicability to government and industry use cases. Identify opportunities to integrate innovative technologies, such as data virtualization, federated analytics, and intelligent automation. Collaboration and Communication: Act as the technical liaison between clients, internal teams, and external partners. Create and deliver compelling presentations, white papers, and architectural documentation for technical and non-technical audiences. Required Qualifications: Experience: Minimum 7+ years of experience in solutions architecture, including 3+ years in a federal government setting. Proven expertise in Data Lakes, Data Meshes, and data-centric architectures. Strong knowledge of AI/ML tools, frameworks, and deployment strategies. Hands-on experience with design-based software development methodologies. Familiarity with federal standards and security frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, CMMC). Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Hands-on experience with big data tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka). Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Java, or equivalent languages. Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines. Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizenship. Eligibility for a Secret security clearance or higher. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent. Experience with large-scale federal government projects involving AI/ML and data systems. Strong understanding of agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
